Prayer Needs
Prayer Changes People; Prayer Changes Situations!
“Finally brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honoured, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.” - 1 Thessalonians 3:1-5.
- Prayer Chain:
The HWFAC has a Prayer Chain, which is a list of volunteers willing and (at least sometimes) available to pray for the immediate needs and concerns of the HWFAC (eg. over meetings, decisions and letters involving the HWFAC, to municipal and other government councils, boards, boards of education, etc.).
Volunteers are put on a team list and then contacted by telephone when a prayer need arises. They, in turn, pray about the need and then call it on to the next person on the list. In this way, prayers are being lifted up to the Throne of Grace for His intervention and blessing.

- Quarterly Prayer List:
Please pray fervently for:
1. PACE - now an umbrella program proposal that includes several community faith groups; that the Ministry of Education and provincial MPPs would be supportive of deliving Ontario curriculum within faith-sensitive public school programs.
2. Anti-homophobia guidelines set out by the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board that, if not stopped in its tracks, will empower the LGBT community to normalize, promote, and celebrate homosexuality, forcing indoctrination upon school board staff and students.
3. National issues: ‘Same-sex’ marriage; municipal and then provincial elections; democratic deficit, unelected Senate.
4. Pray for financial support for HWFAC;
5. The use of Declaration of Spiritual Values Document,
6. The City of Hamilton - budgeting for Sexual Health programs; civil servants having to issue same sex marriage licenses.
7. Thank the Lord for guiding and sustaining us.

“Righteous are you, O LORD, and your laws are right.
The statutes you have laid down are righteous; they are fully trustworthy.
My zeal wears me out, for my enemies ignore your words.
Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them.
Though I am lowly and despised, I do not forget your precepts.
Your righteousness is everlasting and your law is true.
Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands are my delight.
Your statutes are forever right; give me understanding that I may live.”
Psalm 119:137 - 144
