Education

We have provided the following 4 pages to help you further educate yourself in these important issues:

  1. DECLARATION OF SPIRITUAL VALUES
  2. This is a tool used for parents of students in the public school system to assist them in communicating with their child’s teachers and principal, and school councils regarding issues of their family’s faith and belief as they apply to the principles taught and the materials used in schools.

  3. SEX EDUCATION
  4. We informed our readers of some of the positive aspects found in Edition 4 of the Grade 5-8 curriculum such as numerous occasions when students are directed to discuss things with their parents or clergy and the promised inclusion of the point that no Grade 8 student meets the criteria of being able to make a responsible decision to engage in sexual activity. See also Sex Ed articles and correspondence.

  5. P.A.C.E.
  6. This program, when piloted, will provide students with the Ontario Curriculum, but within an environment and with curriculum materials that are sensitive toward families with a Judeo-Christian background. The School Board, in order to avoid having to defend these schools, wishes to see the Ministry of Education define “types of schools” in its policy. See Program Proposal, Board Protocol and Correspondence.

  7. EQUITY POLICY
  8. We have presented the argument that “opinions” such as the opinion that homosexuality is unnatural cannot be subject to any sanctions or discipline in our free and democratic society.
